'Summary, Conclusions and Recommendations,6.1 SUMMARY,This thesis focus on the development of the modern track design especially the floating slab track system FST to investigate the reduction of vibration course by train operation, this is due to the previous researches in dynamic analysis which indicates that it cannot only eliminate noise and vibrations but also it can avoid resonance. In this study, the standard values of a Floating Slab Track system were modeled using two-dimensional (2D) finite element model (FEM). ABAQUS software is used to model and fully populated with key variables such as slab length and thickness, vertical isolator stiffness, and Young’s modulus. Track vibration reduction test was also carried out indoors with fixed rail on the concrete track bed with double-layer nonlinear vibration damping fasteners and elastic strip type III split fasteners respectively. The research results provide a better understanding of several parameters pertinent to floating slab track in control of train vibration, which include the effect of the slab length. A formula for calculating the additional rail stress of a Floating Slab Track system was proposed based on combined use of the improved empirical models and results obtained from the numerical modeling, The merit of the design method is that the slab length can reduce not only the track vibration, but can also reduce resonance, and it has overcome most limitations of the existing design methods. The outcomes of the findings were synthesized into additional stress formula, which facilitate the use of the design method by railway engineers for routine design practice. The passage of railway vehicles produces mechanical vibrations across an extensive range of frequencies [13] [14]. Thus, the placement of structural vibration isolation systems is required to decrease vibrations and noise. Floating slab track (FST) systems are the most effective for prevention of mechanical vibrations and ground- borne noise generated by passing trains. Floating Slab Track systems (FST) have been successfully installed in various civil structures such as tunnels, high-speed rail lines, bridges, and viaducts. Various different types of Floating Slab Track (FST) systems have been improved and constructed around the world in places such as Japan, Europe, and North America [15]. Floating Slab Track (FST) systems typically consist of simple masses and springs that can isolate vibrations due to wheel-rail interactions. In an FST system, a continuous welded rail (CWR) is fixed to a massive concrete slab through rail pads with isolators under the concrete track.
